I finally found the story out behind this crazy door in the middle of the yard. I've been where I'm at now for a little over a year. and one time I drove by it and thought it was way funny.
So all this time of asking old timers of the area that I thought would know... Well, they didn't know. So today I made a couple of calls and got the truth behind it. Its actually rather funny, yet interesting.
The house was kind of set back so you couldn't see the entrance of the door. Yeah, if I had the choice I'd want my privacy too. Well the only complicated thing was that they always had packages shipped to them through UPS (not the post office, yes UPS).
UPS, wouldn't deliver to them unless they had a visible address on their door. So being funny, these guys decided that they would stick another door out in the middle of their yard, paint it "bright blue" and paint the address over it. Now, of course, UPS always sees them and gets what they need to them.
Now would you call this sarcasm, protesting, or just a great sense of humor. I think it could be all of the above. What do you think?
